Kraken Parent Payward Links With Singapore Gulf Bank for Round-the-Clock Settlement
Payward integrates SGB Net to offer institutional clients in Asia and the Gulf instant, 24/7 digital asset settlement.
Payward, the parent company of cryptocurrency exchange Kraken, has forged a partnership with Singapore Gulf Bank to bring continuous, real-time settlement capabilities to institutional digital asset markets across Asia and the Gulf region, the companies announced Sunday.
The integration centers on SGB Net, Singapore Gulf Bank's proprietary real-time clearing network, which allows eligible institutional clients to settle transactions at any hour without waiting for traditional banking windows to open. The move addresses a longstanding friction point in digital asset markets, where settlement delays have historically created counterparty risk and capital inefficiency for large-scale participants.

As part of the broader arrangement, Singapore Gulf Bank will also onboard Kraken Prime — Payward's institutional trading arm — as an additional source of digital asset liquidity. That step is expected to deepen the pool of tradable assets available through SGB Net, strengthening the overall value proposition for institutional users operating across multiple time zones.
The partnership reflects a wider industry push to close the operational gap between crypto-native infrastructure and conventional financial services. By embedding bank-grade clearing capabilities directly into a major exchange's institutional offering, both firms are positioning themselves to capture demand from asset managers, hedge funds, and corporate treasury desks that require settlement certainty as a prerequisite for market participation.
