Terms of Service
Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Creditlumio and any related services we operate. By accessing or using the site you agree to be bound by these Terms; if you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may update these Terms from time to time, and continued use of the site after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Use of the Service
Your use of Creditlumio is permitted on the basis that you (a) do not break the law, (b) do not interfere with the operation of the site or any other user's enjoyment of it, (c) do not attempt to access non-public areas of the service, (d) do not reproduce or republish our content beyond fair use, and (e) do not use any automated system (bots, crawlers, scrapers) in a way that imposes an unreasonable load on the service.
Where Creditlumio provides account-based features, you are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and any activity carried out from your account. If you suspect unauthorized use, contact us promptly via the Contact form. We may suspend or revoke account access at our discretion if we believe an account is being misused or has been compromised.
Intellectual Property
All original content published on Creditlumio — including articles, headlines, photographs commissioned or licensed by us, illustrations, logos, design, and the underlying source code of the website — is the property of Creditlumio or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. You may view, share, and link to our content for personal, non-commercial purposes. Republishing, copying, mirroring, or commercial redistribution requires our prior written permission.
User Submissions
When you send material to Creditlumio for possible editorial use — a story tip, a correction, a letter to the editor, or a photograph — you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use the material in connection with our reporting, with attribution where appropriate and where you have not asked to remain anonymous. You warrant that the submission is yours to share and that we are free to publish it.
Newsletter and Email Communications
If you sign up for the Creditlumio newsletter, we will use your email address to send the editions you have requested and, where permitted, occasional service messages related to your subscription. We will not pass your address to other organizations, and you can unsubscribe with a single click via the link in any email.
Third-Party Links and Sources
Articles on Creditlumio routinely link out to the original outlets, primary sources, and other reference material that informed the reporting. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of these external sites. Visiting them is at your own discretion, subject to their respective terms.
Disclaimer of Warranties
While Creditlumio takes reasonable care to provide accurate and timely editorial content, the site is supplied on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties — express or implied — about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, or availability of the content, and we accept no responsibility for any loss arising from reliance on it. Always consult an appropriately qualified professional before acting on information you read here.
Limitation of Liability
Our total liability to you, taken in the aggregate, for all claims arising from or relating to Creditlumio or these Terms is limited to the greater of one hundred US dollars (USD 100) or any amount actually paid by you to us in the twelve months preceding the claim. This limitation applies to the maximum extent permitted by law and survives termination of these Terms.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Creditlumio (and our operators, contractors, and partners) harmless against any claims or losses arising out of your breach of these Terms or your violation of applicable law in connection with your use of the site. We reserve the right to assume the exclusive defense of any matter subject to indemnification, in which case you agree to cooperate with us.
Suspension and Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time: by you, simply by discontinuing use of Creditlumio; by us, by suspending or restricting your access for any reason we consider appropriate. The provisions of these Terms that should reasonably survive — intellectual property, disclaimers, liability caps, indemnification, governing law — survive any termination.
Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms — and any dispute, claim, or proceeding arising out of them — are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Creditlumio's operator is established. Each party agrees to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of that jurisdiction, except to the extent that mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence override this arrangement.
Changes to These Terms and How to Reach Us
Creditlumio may amend these Terms when our practices change, when the law requires it, or for any other reasonable purpose. The current version is always the one published here. We will provide advance notice of material changes through the site or via newsletter. For any question about these Terms, the canonical contact channel is the Contact form linked from every page on the site.
